It looks like Apple continues its way into Europe, as 24 hours after the announcement of iPhone in the UK, the German carrier to cooperate with the American colossus has been revealed. Deutsche Telekom T-Mobile will release the iPhone in Germany at the same time as in Britain, November 9th. Consumers will be able to buy it for €399 ($553).

I bumped on this article and realised once again how fast time flies. It has been 50 years since they have built their first transmitter in 1957. Today, in 2007, they are one of the leading audio companies in the world. Personally I am more than happy when working with Sennheiser products, either that’s for studio or PA applications. What can I say, I’m a big fan!

Steve Jobs has announced the official UK launch date for the iPhone. On November 9th, consumers will be able to purchase the 8GB version for £269. As expected, the carrier is O2. The iPhone will have free Wi-Fi access to over 7000 hotspots all around the country. Still, from what it seems, the 3G version of iPhone won’t be available in the near future. Steve Jobs mentioned that “The 3G chipsets that are available to semiconductors work reasonably well except for power. They are real power hogs, so as you know, the handset battery life used to be 5-6 hours for GSM, but when we got to 3G they got cut in half. Most 3G phones have battery lives of 2-3 hours (of talk time)”. Although Jobs believes that the power issues with the 3G can be solved, he thinks that it won’t be sooner than late next year untill we see a 3G iPhone. Check out this one for more info.

After more than a week’s rehearsals to check if they can still play as a band, Led Zeppelin have finally announced their concert at the London O2 Arena on November 26th. Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones will be joined by John Bonham’s son, Jason Bonham for the show. Anyone interested should go buy his tickets right now, because from what I hear they’re already hard enough to find. Check it out.

Maybe it’s my luck, but recently I keep running on people who are ready to fight over the software they use for audio production. Both in real life and over the internet. I mean, seriously, I’ve been stuck in endless conversations of the sort ”Which one is best, Cubase or Pro Tools?” which usually lead to wider audio-philosophical questions like “European or American technology?”, and so on. Well here’s what I believe. Each major audio sequencing software has its strong and weak points. For example, when I work at my home studio where my main subject is programming and orchestrating tracks, I use Cubase over Windows. I find that its ease of use on the Virtual Instruments and general VST section is uncompared to any other software. On the other hand, the studio I cooperate with for recording live instruments and mixing the final tracks uses a complete Pro Tools DAW kit, the Digidesign DA/AD converters and Pro Tools software over Mac. Again, it is my belief that Pro Tools cannot be compared with anything when it comes to recording and mixing. Still, there is so much software out there to choose from, like Fruity Loops or MOTU’s Digital Performer. Nowadays there is a big variety to fit all tastes. It all sums up to what one really needs, likes and wants to do with his software after all.

It is equipped with 6 mono channels with 3 band EQs, 4 stereo channels with 2 band EQs. Also, it features 2 auxiliary outputs with pre/post fader choice.
